7th and 8th grade boys basketball split against Danville

The 7th grade Bulldogs were back in action on Monday night against the Warriors from Danville. The game started out in a frenzy with both teams pressing hard and capitalizing off of each teams mistakes. A hard fought first quarter saw the Dogs take a small deficit into the 2nd. The 2nd did not go as planned for the Dogs as they struggled to their offense going and the deficit grew going into halftime. Coming out of the half the Bulldogs kicked up their defensive pressure and forced the Warriors into turning the ball over and the Bulldogs turned that into offense. The 3rd and 4th quarters saw the team inch closer and closer to the Warriors but could not overtake them. The Bulldogs would lose a hard fought battle.  Dion Payne and Corey Smith were the assist leaders for the team. Noah Godlevske was the leader in steals. Logan Reffeitt led the team on the boards. Logan Dickey had a great game on the offensive and led the team in points.  The boys are back in action Thursday, at home, against Center Grove. Go Dogs!

The 8th grade basketball took on the Warriors of Danville last night. It did not take long for the Dogs to establish themselves as they used their defense to create offensive opportunities to jump to a 19-2 lead after the first quarter. The defense would remain strong with great ball pressure from Luke Stuckey, Carson Knox, Michael Williams, Julian Embry, and Mario Walkine. The interior Defense of Brady Hurd, Hank Blahnik, David Worlds and Isaiah Smith did their part and did not allow anything easy close to the basket. Carson Knox led the team in scoring with 19 in an otherwise balanced attack that saw 9 of the 12 players in the scoring column. This Thursday the Dogs put their 2 game win streak on the line when a good Center Grove Central team comes to town. Good Luck Dogs!!
