Last night the 8th grade basketball team lost to Avon South. The Orioles were relentless in their pursuit of the basket, putting up 39 points over the course of the game. The Bulldogs, however, were much more selective with their scoring, netting just 5 by the final buzzer. Despite the score and knowing a comeback was unlikely, the Lady Dogs showed admirable effort and determination to be the hardest workers on the court. Sofia Hague and Anabelle Freeman took several hard hits throughout the game but kept working hard, Olivia Pearcy went after every loose ball with tenacity, and Niyah Galbreath protected the basket and the ball with all her might. The girls will give it another go next Tuesday at home against Avon North.
